Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)

We are proud to participate in the Canada Dental Care Plan (CDCP), a new federal program designed to help make dental care more affordable for Canadians. If you or your family are eligible, your dental treatments at Glencairn Dental Clinic may be fully or partially covered.

Covered Dental Services

  • Preventive care: Exams, cleanings, X‑rays, fluoride, sealants
  • Restorative procedures: Fillings, root canals, Oral surgery: extractions
  • Oral surgery: Tooth and simple wisdom-tooth extraction
  • Prosthodontics: Partial/full dentures, relines
  • Periodontal care: Scaling & root planning
  • Services like implants or cosmetic treatments (veneers, whitening) are not covered.
Applying for CDCP: Step-by-Step
Check eligibility and apply online via Canada.ca/dental
Required documents:
  1. Notice of Assessment (2024 tax return)
  2. SIN or child’s personal info
  3. Confirmation of no private dental insurance
  4. After approval, you’ll receive a welcome letter with start date and CDCP ID
  5. CDCP billing is managed by Glencairn Dental directly with Sun Life

How to Use Your CDCP Benefits

1. Apply for the CDCP through Service Canada. 2. Once approved, you will receive confirmation of your coverage. 3. Bring your CDCP information to your appointment at Glencairn Dental Clinic. 4. We will submit claims directly on your behalf, so you only pay any portion not covered.

Eligibility Requirements

You must meet all 4 of the eligibility requirements before applying: 1. Be a Canadian resident 2. Have filed your tax return for the previous year 3. Have an adjusted family net income of less than $90,000 4. Not have access to dental insurance

What You'll Need to Apply

1. Social Insurance Number (SIN) for each applicant 2. Date of birth and full name 3. Home and mailing address 4. List of dental coverage through government social programs (if applicable) 5. Previous year's tax return and notice of assessment
